Design planning
A retirement or promotion cake often needs to communicate several important details clearly. Before requesting your quote, consider including:
Designs can be formal, celebratory, understated, or highly personalized. Service-inspired colors, piped details, photographs, and custom lettering may all be considered during the design review.
Official military seals, insignia, emblems, unit marks, and some rank imagery may be protected or require permission. Terri's Sweet Cakes does not promise to reproduce official marks. If your idea includes protected artwork, upload it with your quote request so it can be reviewed before the design is accepted.
Learn about edible image cakesTell us your guest count, whether other desserts will be served, and whether you prefer a round, sheet, tiered, or mixed-dessert presentation. Also note transportation, display-time, or individual-treat needs.
Terri will recommend an appropriate format. Exact servings vary by cake dimensions and how the cake is cut, so the final recommendation is confirmed with your quote.
For the best availability, request your custom cake at least two to three weeks before the event. Larger, tiered, or highly detailed cakes may need more planning time.
Have a shorter timeline? You are welcome to check availability, but rush orders are not guaranteed. Complete details and clear inspiration photos make it easier to review what may be possible.
Pickup details are confirmed after an order is accepted. Off-base delivery may be available depending on the date, distance, cake size, and setup requirements; availability and fees are confirmed during quoting.

Include photographs, colors, invitation designs, or approved artwork. Inspiration is a starting point; the final design reflects TSC's work and what can be produced.

Terri's Sweet Cakes is based in Belleville and serves customers throughout the surrounding Metro East area, including communities near Scott Air Force Base. Delivery is evaluated order by order. No additional office or bakery location is maintained on the installation.
Ordering questions
We accept requests for retirement, promotion, pinning, reenlistment, going-away, and other celebration cakes. Every request is reviewed for date availability, serving needs, design complexity, and artwork requirements.
On-base delivery is not guaranteed. Customers must coordinate any required sponsorship or visitor access in advance. Off-base delivery or an agreed handoff outside controlled access may be available depending on the order.
Two to three weeks is recommended for most custom cakes. Larger or more detailed cakes should be requested earlier. Short-notice availability varies.
Include the occasion, event date, serving count, colors, inscription, pickup or delivery preference, and inspiration images. For a retirement or promotion, you may also include the honoree's name, rank or title, and relevant service dates.
Official military seals, emblems, unit marks, and other imagery may be protected. Reproduction is not automatically available. Upload the artwork with your request so it can be reviewed, or ask for a design using colors, wording, and other non-protected details.
